How big can a public living room be?

We have recently discovered the Camerados Movement, and we have been inspired. As we all move through troubling and difficult times, what better than a confluence of people, place and philosophy, the whole designed to support everyone in it?

Creating a new form of togetherness in the public realm – a space where prejudice and demonisation are left at the door, and where asking for help and reflective consideration is the norm.

This is a public living room.

We sit together, reflect and support – with no vestige of command and control systems, no clipboard bound analysis of your, or my, problem, no interventional attempt to fix us – just meeting others in the surprising interface of difference and changing perception.

Does the East Midlands have space for another public living room?

Do the members of our communities have the will to embrace the six principles of being a camerado?

Are you as amazed, as we are, about the potential for meeting new people and sparking off new informal mechanisms of mutual support?

Could you work in partnership with us to see if we can develop together as camerados?
